QUBE WEBINAR SERIES

Impact of Sensor Density on Emissions Monitoring

Accuracy, Coverage, and Uncertainty

Speaker: Brendan Byrne, Senior Data Scientist

Date: June 24, 2026

Time: 10:00-11:00am CST

What’s Happening

One of the biggest questions in continuous monitoring is how many devices to deploy.

Deploying too few can lead to poor coverage of emissions, while too many can be redundant and costly. This presentation will examine the impact of continuous monitoring sensor deployment count on emissions estimates for the METEC ADED 2025 campaign.

We show that localizing sources and site-total emissions require different levels of coverage, and that sensitivity to errors in wind also depend on device count. We will also introduce new uncertainty and confidence scores being developed from the model and will soon become available for better understanding emissions estimates and aiding in OGMP reporting.

If you are interested in the data science behind emissions monitoring then this session is for you.

All registrants will receive access to the recording following the presentation. Please note the live Q&A session will not be available in future recordings.
