How Qube Helped One Permian Operator Detect Offsite Emissions

Operating near other facilities makes emission source attribution challenging in the Permian. In January 2025, Qube’s continuous monitors flagged a methane spike at one operator’s site. Directional and wind-aware modeling traced the plume northwest to a neighboring gas plant, not the operator’s equipment.

Knowing the emissions were offsite saved time and avoided unnecessary onsite inspections.

The results were faster decision-making and less emissions attributed to the operator’s site.
